The little ol' Celtic band from Texas, Clandestine, performs live for us! Known for their regular appearances at the Texas Scottish Festival and the North Texas Irish Festival, Clandestine brings its newly re-formed group, with fiddle, cittern and bagpipes in tow, to the Geary Performance Studio, for a preview of the band’s weekend shows at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck and the Houston Highland Games...
Violinist Johnny Chang, cellist Olive Chen, and pianist Chia-Wen Wang Bonbright are Trio Formosan speak with KUHF’s Catherine Lu and perform selections from their recital in the Geary Performance Studio. The Trio presents its recital, Music from Three Continents, featuring selections from China and Taiwan, Argentina and the United States -- including Leonard Bernstein’s 1937 Piano Trio … tonight at 7:30PM at Bethany Christian Church on Westheimer Boulevard west of Kirby Drive. Clandestine performs tonight at 7:00PM at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck. They'll also be in residence, and performing twice a day, at the 37th annual Houston Scottish Highland Games and Celtic Festival at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club on Highway Six, a mile north of the Katy Freeway in northwest Houston. They play some tunes in the Geary Performance Studio in a session hosted by TFR Producer Bob Stevenson. Listen. Download.
