Melissa Galvez is proud to be the first full time reporter and coordinator in the KUHF Newslab. She is interested in all types of stories, but especially those about every day people who make a difference in their communities. Melissa traces her love for public radio back to her grandmother's 1940's radio, always set to New York's WNYC. Before coming to KUHF, Melissa taught 8th grade Language Arts in the Alief School District as a member of Teach for America. She is originally from New York City.
