Laurie Johnson is the Houston host for All Things Considered at KUHF 88.7FM. Before being promoted to that position, she worked as a reporter at KUHF for six years, after starting there as an intern in 2002. Laurie has covered a variety of topics for Houston, including 2008's historic presidential election, Hurricane Ike, Enron, the crash of Space Shuttle Columbia and multiple sessions of the Texas legislature.

Laurie has been recognized for her work in public affairs and government reporting and in 2008 received a Lone Star award as Radio Reporter of the Year in Texas. Her work has also been heard across the country on National Public Radio, CNN and other broadcast outlets.

Laurie was born and raised in the Houston area and is a graduate of the University of Houston. She is also an active member of Houston's First Baptist Church and spends much of her free time volunteering in several church ministries.
