Judy Hong is a proud University of Texas Longhorn alumnus. Graduating with a Psychology degree, university is also where her interest in volunteerism and non-profit organizations began. Her involvement in the Asian-interest sorority alpha Kappa Delta Phi introduced her to the importance of raising awareness for breast cancer and minority voices in the community.
Ms. Hong has always had a love for the arts, beginning her career in advertising, with Austin-based firms SicolaMartin and T3 Advertising. After a number of years working for the for-profit world she returned to the world of non-profits and signed up for a two-and-a-half year stint in the Peace Corps. She was placed in Azerbaijan as a Community Economic Development Volunteer and assigned to two non-profit organizations, one grassroots and the other international. After returning from her service she continued to work in not-for-profit organizations, which she continues at KUHF.
She has two dogs, of which one of them often gets mistaken for a rat.
