Jared Counts moved to Houston in 1995, survived high school and college, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a degree in Communications (Media Production) and a minor in Film Studies. After being hired part-time at KUHF Radio in early 2003, he proceeded to bounce between departments, helping with special events and media sponsorships before working in underwriting and interning with the audio production staff. He became a full-time employee in February 2007, when he moved to the newly-created Communications Department and started work in web development/IT/whatever else comes up.

Jared wrote film reviews on the side for the KUHF website since November 2006, when the erstwhile Music From the Movies host Regina Scruggs asked if he wouldn't mind helping her review a few DVDs. He resigned that position in February 2011 for personal reasons, and continues to focus on improving his web development skills. Javascript waits for no man.
