"Silence"

Andy Warhol, "Big Electric Chair," 1967, The Menil Collection, gift of the artist
July 30, 2012
Curator Toby Kamps talks about Silence, a new exhibition he organized for the Menil Collection. Inspired by John Cage’s groundbreaking 1952 composition 4'33'', Silence examines some of the attempts by artists over the last century to employ the absence of sound, speech or visual content in their works, as a way of shaping space or consciousness.
Toby Kamps talks with Troy Schulze.
