Dr. Richard Walker is with the division of Student Affairs, which conducted the referendum.

"Students actually voted to increase the student service fee by $50 a semester, and $45 of that will be designated to athletics for the purpose of constructing, maintaining and operating a new football stadium and renovating the Hofheinz pavilion. And the final results were that 7,334 students voted in favor, which was 73.9 percent."

Uh Regents must now approve the proposal, and the fee could take effect in the fall semester. The entire project is expected to cost about $160 million, with about $60 million already raised.
